I just did a very, very bad thing.

I just bought this 1957 Premier bass.... I hope I like it. If not, I can return it, but dang, it just looks so cool. It ships out to me on Tuesday... now comes "the wait".

How could that possibly be a bad thing? :D Congrats!

  3. Nice. That would fit in my retro country western band just right.

Just got off the phone - it's gonna come "air cargo", so it'll cost more money, but it'll be here much quicker (Tuesday eve or Wednesday, latest) !

I didn't want it sitting at UPS in 100 degree weather... plus I have 4 gigs this week, so I'd like to have the option of using it....if I like it.

    Thanks guys !

I've been buying/selling/hunting vintage stuff for a long, long time...and this is the only one of these I've ever seen.

It's the only one Jay (Rosen) has ever seen as well.

    :)

Sweet bass, it's gotta have some big thump with that hollow body.

I hope so. Big hollow body, short scale.... I hope it brings the big bottom ! :)

  9. I just rolled the dice on a '67 Fender Coronado in mint condition. I was a little worried about the hollow body, we play pretty loud sometimes. I plugged it in, cranked it up, and was amazed at how solid the output was, great electronics.

I'm picking it up from my tech today, might gig it tonight.

I hope you have the same experience with your Premier.

I assume it's full hollow. I probably wouldn't have risked it on a bass I couldn't play if there wasn't a great return policy, but Jay has been selling vintage for a long time...so he knows how it goes...

I love Coronados - nearly bought one (was looking at a red one and a burst) before I found this Premier bass. Coro's are such under-rated, under-appreciated basses. Congrats ! :)

I dunno, I've seen plenty of kids by you, like that lovely red VM TB bass, or all the other awesome refinishes and builds.

    :)

I've got a few I'm working on now.... I've been gigging so much that I haven't had time for projects, but still working (slowly) on a couple things.

    :)

IMO, that bass is as cool as they come. Congrats. Hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoy looking at it and drooling over it!

    Indeed !

Of course when you have way more basses than you need, I guess it gets a bit shameful and silly... but I can live with that shame.

    :)

    Thanks !

Ooh, I hope you post them when you get time to work on them!

I've been wanting to get more heavily into building/modding/refinishing, and your builds are a huge inspiration.
