I wasn't around this forum much for quite a while. Mainly because you guys tend to give me a bad case of G.A.S. Anyways, I just ordered a custom Sandberg bass! (ok the G.A.S. possibly isn't your fault ) Anyways here's the specs: Sandberg California PM-5 (with JM pickups) Delano Hybrid pickups (The Hybrid 5 with JC 5 AL-H) Delano Sonar 2 pre Maple/Maple neck Satin matt black (semi-transparent) on european ash body Chrome hardware No pickguard And now... 8 weeks of horrible, horrible waiting...
Good luck! I had to wait almost six months for my Basic KT six... But they moved when they were building mine, so that explains Anyway, I'm very happy with the bass. I have 3 Sandbergs now
Wow that sound like a cool sandberg! I'm waiting for one too! She's due to be here in a month! Sandberg makes wonderful instruments.
The title did say "I just ordered" It does. I just hope the finish turns out the way I want. What are the specs on yours?
I'm sure you'll be pleased with the finish. Sandberg makes some of the most beautiful and high-quality finishes around. Not as fancy as yours =P Much more classic: JM4 in Tobacco Burst on Alder body. White pearloid PG. Maple fretboard with White pearloid block inlays. Old SKool =P
True, but there are so many kinds of black... Fancy? Dunno about that. Yours should definitely look more classic though.
It has arrived! And to make up for the bad pic (as seen in the sandberg club), here's some soundclips! MM mode (active), MM/bridge pickup only JJ mode (passive), bridge pickup JJ mode, both pickups JJ mode, neck pickup Strings are the standard stainless steel strings that came with the bass. Not much of a fan of stainless steel strings, so I ordered some nickel strings (probably the priciest rounds around...) to replace these. The recordings were made direct, with absolutely no effects.
Yes, the finish is great! I wish I had a better camera... Anyways, all Sandberg finishes I've seen so far are very good.
Yeah, they are just what I was hoping for. Great passive single coil sound, and also a nice fat active humbucker sound available. (the neck singlecoil can also be blended in with the MM humbucker in the active/MM mode)
Awesome Sound mate, absolutelly lovely! it looks amazing also!!! What do you think of the Sandberg pups in comparison to the Delano's?
