I think you made a good choice. I think those strings pair very well with single-coil jazz pickups. :)

Just be prepared for them to be a bit rougher on your fingers than most nickel strings. But the lower tension reduces the wear and tear considerably, and the resulting dynamic range you can get out of the set is fantastic IMO.

I used them on my jazz and was very happy, then I tried LaBellas Deep Talkin' rounds 46-110 on the same bass, wow. More of everything! Changed after a year because of the high tension, I wish they made those lower than their 41-106 set or whatever it is, like 40-100... That would be tone heaven on my jazz for me!
    Fat Beams are great though!

I do. I love Fat Beams. They're close to being the ideal strings for a Jazz.

I've got Fat Beams on my AM STD Jazz bass and I really like them. I used Hi Beams for a while but found them to be a bit...."clinical" sounding. At least that's how came across on that particular bass. To my ears the Fat Beams have a bit more depth and warmth than the Hi Beams. Don't know if the Fat Beams are the ultimate but right now I'm enjoying them.

You would expect them to be more rough than nickel... Since they are stainless!

And that's why I mentioned it.

They are not as smooth as nickel coated strings, but not bad for stainless.
