I was posting a wonderful response to a fun thread that I knew was going to get closed, and no sooner did I finish my response - and it was down.

The thread had to do with suggestions (once again) for a better talkbass. Howz about an "almost anything goes" section for those of us who are 18 and over? A nice safe haven where people like, hmmmmmm.... i don't know, maybe Bruce and CS can go really have it out?

Almost anything goes would consist of everything and anything cept things that would really mar this site - ie. porn, ads, threats, anything illegal. Any thoughts????

hey, i took your side in my response to the thread that got deleted. but i added that i think people such as bruce make this a really colorful place - and i do think that.

i don't know how to connect threads (or if i even can) but if anyone wants to put my suggestion in the newer, cleaner, more wholesome thread on TB suggestions - please do so.

ya know, i feel kind of honored that i've been put on someone's ignore list. and damn, now i went and got myself knocked off. ya know cs, you're an idiot for doing that. am i back on now?

A BMW site I visit doesn't count posts in OT in the post count. I wonder why they do that.
  4. Problem with this is that anyone can make another account or something and set their birthdate to make them look 18+ and go and read all of it.

juvenile behaviour makes one's age apparent, though, quickly, and if someone doesn't post with juvenile behaviour or topicality, there's no need to lie about the age. folks usually only check the age section of a profile when they are given cause to. at least, ime.

actully i was going to say that over 18 thing would be a good idea(even thou i couldnt go in till next year) but i was going to say the "kids" would make a second account..... but TH got to it before me
  9. Yes, but if this forum was meant for adults only, anyone could go and view it and not post anything.

Just like anyone could go sign up on like some porno site and say their 18+ even though they arent and they don't have to say anything to view the material.

ya didn't miss much really. a boxing match was just beginning between bruce and cs. it was fun though i tell ya....

i ALWAYS miss this stuff but for some reason the past couple days i've been catchin some good action. think i've seen 3 threads get shut down. this might even make my talkbass experience MORE exciting. gotta catch em before they cut em.

yes, i will have a life again in a week and a half when i go back to work.

Not to act all enlightened or anything (and I'm under 18 so count me out of this whole thing), but it's just text. Can't people just get the picture that none of this stuff really exists in the real world, except of course if you say something to P.O. someone who knows where you live and comes to get you.

But its just text, its just people online interacting with other people. Take what you want from it and leave out the rest. It's like reading a book. Maybe 1 chapter was real crappy and made you angry at the author, but the rest was pleasing, insightful, and cleverly-put. Live and let live, people.
