I like a "good" dog story from time to time.

Especially ones involving those "evil dogs" who know nothing except how to kill and maim :p:

But for real, this is nice. I'm just curious though as to why they didn't mention the breed... I do have my theories though.

  2. Happy ending, but:

"No one knows who returned the dog, but the family believes Millie may have been used in dog fights."

Man, some people just need to burn.

Not enough hate here...apparently no one realizes that this is a pit bull?

Good story with a good ending. :D

But some people are just complete and utter jerks. :rollno: Dog fights are just wrong in so many ways.

Could be, could not be. Pit bulls are great people dogs and get a bad rap too many times. But the kind of scum that steal therapy dogs don't care what kind of dog it is.

For sure. I'm a pit bull owner and hear almost daily how horrible they are. Many folks can't seem to believe (or accept) that there are pit bull therapy and rescue dogs, like they are 100% incapable of either role...:rollno: They truly can be great dogs in the right circumstances. I just posted this to kind of remind folks that there are some very good pits out there along with multitudes of not-so-good ones. Helps to remember that when you read about the bites and attacks, etc and assume that the whole breed is like that.
I'm soo glad that they got this dog back. A good service dog is so much more than a "pet". It's everything to some of the folks who need them.

  8. I'd disagree with this part, Pit Bulls are seen as 'tough guy' dogs by those types.

Had it been a Poodle or Lab or something along those lines, I don't think it would have been stolen for fights.

Agreed 100%, although as distressing as this sounds, I have heard of smaller dogs being used as "bait" or "training" dogs. Basically the fighting dogs are able to rip them up as practice without teh fear of being injured.. It kills me to think of that sort of thing..:(

Yeah thats what I was getting at, pit bulls are the "fighting dogs" but a lot of them are used at "bait dogs"

I think we should put dog fighters in with each other and make them fight each other to the death.
