I like this and that but can't find both

  1. I own a modulus sweetspot 5 and a warwick corvette standard 5 string. I love them both. The modulus is great for slap and is constructed great. The warwick is great for rock but it is constructed poorly. I really like the overall feel of the warwick I just think that it has the worst bridge, nut, and headstock out of any bass I have ever played.

I'm looking for a bass that is like these two basses. One that is constructed well, has a great wood tone, and a growl.

    Thanks guys and gals.

You mean constructed poorly, or designed poorly?

I can say all the Warwicks I've played were of good quality, however on the design things like bridge and such, everyone has their own opinion.

If you don't like Warwick style, how about G&L? L-2500 is an quality axe that will get you similar growl in more traditional package.

  4. I'll check those out. I might try a tube preamp also.

I second the L-2500 suggestion. It's got great snap to it, and it'll sound like just about anything...
