This is an Indonesian made Tiger Eye Cirrus. The tone and construction is great. Generally, I am not a fan of detuned four strings when you to comes to what I play, but I make an exception for a Peavey Cirrus. That 35” scale gives me an open D with no flop at all. The store is kind of blowing these out, so much it may come home with me soon.
This is a video of an American Peavey Cirrus four that I kept in DGCF tuning. It’s tone and that of the new import Cirrus are virtually indentical. I suspect tome differences may reflect wood much more than region of manufacture. The American Cirrus was certainly a prettier bass than the Tiger Eye I played on Tuesday. I sold it to pay for my old DJ5 which I have since sold. Go figure.
