I love my 1/4 size Kay bass - Do you have any experiences to share?

    Hi,

    I have both 3/4 and 1/4 size Kay basses. The 3/4 is still top dog, but I really enjoy the portability, sound, and the volume of the Lil' Kay. I've installed a proper maple wood endpin, but everything else is original. With a small group of people (6-7) playing bluegrass on a wooden floor it works extremely well. I also enjoy the fact that I can sit down and play it. My knees and ankles aren't what they used to be.

    Do you have any 1/4 size experiences or suggestions to share? I would love to hear them. Thanks.

    You might do better to post this on the DB side of the Forum. I use my fractional Kays as uber-large ABGs, played across my knee while seated. I'm not really categorizing them as DBs at all.
