I'm really not sure about alot of the details, but it's in a pawn shop somewhere in North Carolina as we speak. My parents and my little brother are down there on vacation, and my brother, an accomplished artist who has done some awesome caricatures of Les and is an all-around big Primus fan, saw it. They don't have any way of showing me how it looks or plays, all I know is that it's a fiver. Also, it's only like $150. So, on Wednesday evening it's either going to be :hyper: :bassist: :D , or :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

Interestingly enough, wasn't Les Claypool's first Carl Thompson (the whammy-bar four-stringer) a pawnshop score? Or maybe I'm mixing up my legendary pawnshop prize stories.
  4. Yep Les' first CT was from a guitar shop, he thought it was the ugliest bass he had ever seen but he could play stuff on it that he couldn't on his other bass and he recognized Carl Thompson from a Stanley Clarke album sleeve that showed all his basses, so he saved up his money from pulling weeds and bought it.

This would be an amazing find it turns out legit.

It would be cool if it was the real deal, though.

Just got off the phone. From what my brother said, it's a little beat up. My dad, a former bass player, is going to go there and check it out and call me about it. I should know in 24 hours if I'm getting it or not.
  12. If it was a genuine CT, I wouldn't care if it was a little beat up, hell, I wouldn't care if it was a lot beat up!
