Yeah.. Good thing I went to church today.. He was there seeing a friend getting babtised today. My guitar teacher was like "Hey thats Bela Fleck over there." We went over there and sure enough. Hes a really nice guy though, took time to talk to us and whatnot. I felt kinda bad though, he came there to Southaven, MS to see a friend, and got noticed by a bunch of crazy people who came running up to him talking to him about his music. He must get sick of that. But he was really cool about it. I talked to him about playing with Vic and whatnot. I learned a couple of things. Very cool guy.
yeah.... i guess... *shrugs* I never have been around alot of famous people. Bob dole and Jimmy hoffa are the only other two ive met..and i have jimmy hoffa living under my parents bed... stuffed in a nice tuperware box. So.. yeah.. I just figured "They are just people." I pretty much figured also that if someday I get famous, i wont want people to act crazy and go apes*** around me.. so ill just play it and maybe everyone will catch on
WHA?!? 3004 posts?!? Geez, I spend too much time on here, I need to take up a different habit. Like heroine, or playing the bass or something.
Errr... sorry Nick, derailed your thread. Back on topic. That's awesome. I bought The Flecktones Self titled album at the local CD Warehouse in Erie. It's funny because I know how popular the Flecktones are with hippie/stoner types and when I looked at the guy up front (Tie Dyed Shirt, Long Hair, Listening to "The Wall"... oh yeah) I knew he'd think it was cool I was buying. SO I also picked up Prong's "Beg To Differ Album" and stuck it underneath. So I plop down the CDs and the guy sees the Flecktones and his (bloodshot) eyes light up, "Awesome Choice dude, these guys are great" Then he continues to the next CD, looks at Prong and just looks confused and shuts up. I just think it's funny because I like all sorts of music, looking through my CDs is funny sometimes, since it's in Alphabetical order, I've got Cannibal Corpse next to James Brown and Napalm Death next to Kenneth Nash (A Jazz percussionist who played with a bunch of big names Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, etc). Weird. But diversity is gooooooood.
MUHAHHAH Yeah I do that kinda thing man. One time i was at FYE at the mall. I had a Booker T and the Mg's Greatest Hits Cd, next to the new Cannible Corpse record then next to that was the new Johnny Cash cd. Hmmm the fun huh?? The cd checkerouter guy looked at me like i didn't have a trendy bone in my body. I told him the Cannible Corpse cd was for my son. =) oh yeah..you want a good metal band matt?? www.mrsfletcher.com They are a local band! INSANE ive seen em live twice. Cant wait for next weeks show. They mostly do originals, but have a couple of misfits covers. They do halloween and some other stuff.
