    Hi Everyone,

I was looking for a used Fodera a few months ago, but I got the deal of the century on a vintage Carl Thompson and couldn't pass it up. I just sold my Ritter and I have a little cash in my pocket, so once again I can't help but look for a used Fodera. I'm looking for a four string Monarch or Emporer with a price limit of $4500 at the absolute top. Players conditon is fine with me and actually preferable. I'm not looking for a NYC at all. Does anyone know where I can find one? I know I'm going to need to be patient and Foderas turn up in shops from time to time, so I'm hoping someone here on TB might have seen one for sale or knows someone selling one.

    Thanks

    Mike

Same boat man, I can't say I'm serious about getting one right now, I'm getting a new house this week, but it is definitly in my future plans.

Those deals seem kinda scarce right now, probably because people are holding on to them, Foderas don't really go down in value, and I'd think that at the present they're becoming more and more valuable, the dealers aren't really packing new stuff, and well, the insane waiting periods are well known.

I'd consider probing japanese websites if you are willing to go that far, stores like IKEBE and Kurosawa sometimes get used Foderas. And Miko espanol here on TB also deals a lot with good used models. He actually sold a Matt Garrison sig. to a friend of mine some months ago, mint condition.

They turn up from time to time on eBay. In the past three weeks, two 4-string Monarchs have sold at around that price level. Good luck!

I have a Fodera Monarch 4-string that I would consider selling. You can view pictures here: http://tinyurl.com/4655p7. My bass was built in January of 1986 for Sam Ash in New York. It had one owner before me. I purchased it from Dan Lakland in 1994. The bass has a zebrawood top, fingerboard, and headstock on an ash body. The condition is excellent+. If you have any questions you can get me at niksuela (at) gmail (dot) com.

    Hey ya....

I just want to give a bump here to my friend "niksuela" who is looking to sell his Fodera Monarch. "niksuela" a great and very honest guy, and it's a great bass he's looking to unload, and if I had the bread I'd buy it myself! So if you looking for one of the deals on a Fodera that "pop up every so often", this is it.

He also make a great chicken casserole! :)

    Ciao ya'll......

:scowl: IMO, the seller should chip in to be a supporting member since the sale was made possible through TB bandwidth.
