...for my new job. I would like one that has wifi capability, and a color screen. I also need it to sync with MS office. I do not need bluetooth, but I may or may not want it later, so without is fine but with would be better. I can't spend too much, but there is some flexibility. What say ye, talkbass PDA carrying folk?

I've been wanting one since Apple released the Newton... every time I get the bug, I research what's the best bang for the buck and in the end can see no reason to spend the cash. I have a day planner that holds little bits of papers and such AND has places to write down any info I need. Last time I had the bug to get one (Winter 2003/2004) the Viewsonic was the bees knees to me. (Palm had just spawned the Zire lines).

And I'll second the Phone / PDA thing... I have 2 budies that rave about their "Trio" (one guy has had his a while, the other just got one last month)

I was reading about this and the new Nokia 770 yesterday, and still have a massive chubby.

I have to admit I never wanted a PDA, but I sort of need one now. I bet the lifedrive is too much $$$$$ though. Anyine got a budget PDA with color that has wifi and maybe an expansion slot for bluetooth?

edit: 500$ is alittle much, maybe though, it looks really slick.

edit edit: I like the 4 gig capacity though.

I'd look at Dells - the propellerheads at work like theirs.

    I'll check them out.

Anybody have a Blackberry? I have Nextel as my phone company, so I'm curious as to everyone's impression. Looks OK on paper/screen, anyway.

My friend bought one of those hp pocketpcs, and he liked it, I fooled around with it, and it's pretty nice. Syncs with office, etc, as far as I know.

The idea of having something else to carry around, no matter how cool, has been annoying me so much that I'm now looking for ways to avoid it.

And here I was thinking that PDA on the job was unacceptable.

I guess that would depend on your job?

    eg.

IT guy, PDA could be OK, Olympic diver, not so good.

I was making a very lame joke. PDA is a new slang term for Public Display of Affection. In other words, sucking face in public.

I have a Blackberry. It's fine. The screen is big enough. I use it for phone, emails and SMS. The email feature is great for work as I travel quite a bit. I had a Treo before. I thought I would miss the stylus since the Blackberry uses a wheel, but it's just fine.

zire 72... I'm waiting to receive my 2nd one, hope DHL works on Memorial day (not likely).

I saw that you didn't need Bluetooth, but man it is cool. My last zire I was able to sync without a cradle or usb cable, totally rocked. plus if I was close to my laptop I could surf and look stuff up on my zire.

I'm leaning towards the Dell, the newer x30.
