ok, I think I'll get an ampeg SVP-CL preamp, now what about the power amp?

    what do you suggest?

I plan to use it with a 4 ohm 400w cabinet... I don't know how much power do I need for this power amp because I don't know much about solid state amps headroom...

I need something that could do well in very low volume gigs as well on outdoor gigs...

QSC come out here as the most reliable / best consumer support / lightest / most "accurate" wattage amps on these forums.

The PLX series seems chosen by most above most other Poweramps, indeed most QSC amps.

I hope this is a good starting point for you :)

the stewart 2.1 and 1.6 are also excellent lightweight yet powerful power amps

do a search and you will find TONS of threads on this topic - TONS

  4. yeah try a search. In the numerous threads on this subject everyone says Crest CA6 and CA9, Stewart World 21 and 1.6, and QSC PLX. I will be going with a PLX2402 when I get my amp.
