I am getting a new bass and I decided on a Dean Edge Q4 but it comes in two different pickup configs one with EMG Hz's or the Q4 with Bartolini Pickups...I play country music and won't be able to try bother versions out before deciding so I turn to you moe experienced players which is the better pickup for country music?

Total fanboi of: Fractal Audio, AudiKinesis Cabs, Dingwall basses
Either or would suit fine IMO. I use my Spector NS2000/5 on country/western gigs (EMG HZs) and it sounded fine, and a lot of dudes use MIA Fender Jazzes as well. Go with whatever you'd like more!

In my limited experience with EMG and Bartolini, the EMGs trend a bit on the bright side and Barts trend on the warm side. Not sure about the EMG Hz though.

I would guess Barts would do the country thing with warmth.
