I need an advice

  1. Hello all,
it's time for me to buy myself a nice 40th birthday present.
I have a doubt between 2 basses and I'd like to know people's opinions.
    1) Music Man Bongo 4 HH with extra piezo bridge
    2) Music Man Reflex 4, also with HH pickup configuration.

Option 1 fascinates me because I can build my own 2-channel preamp (each channel with a dedicated 1-band parametric equalizer) so I can get the separate signals from the HH and from the piezo bridge and mix them as much as I like.
Option 2 fascinates me cause the Reflex seems to me a more sensible choice overall. I like the active/passive switch and I also like the series/parallel switches.

Price difference is not huge (Reflex slightly more expensive) so I wouldn't consider that as a massively discriminating factor.

    Anyone can help?
    Thanks

    Peppe

  2. Both awesome.

    I am a musicman fan.

The bongo is modern and aggressive by nature.

    The reflex is warm.

HH inside coils on the reflex is the best tone i have ever got.

Trying both would be cool aye.

Lovely dilemma , try both out .

They are both great instruments .

  4. I know!
    I should try them both.
But it's very hard to find stores having both basses and in the configurations I'm considering.
The bongo with HH+piezo bridge is practically unfindable.

I would recommend the reflex. They are beautiful tone monsters!
