I need an Upgrade, but I have Questions

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by FighttheSilence, Apr 5, 2009.

  1. Ok, so I'm in a Rock/Metal band and we are getting ready to gig, but we need upgrades on our gear. My 2 guitarist are both going to get Raven Half Stacks (100W solid state). We have a PA, and a Loud Drummer so....

Remember, I am in high school, so I'm not loaded.

    1. How much power do I need, (small, medium shows)

    2. I think these 2 GK rigs would be good, Your imput?

    3. Any suggestions (keep it under $1000 please.):bassist::confused:

I'd also like to suggest your going with atleast a 4 ohm 610 cab.
In a "loud" Metal band running against two 100 watt half stacks, a G.K. 700 and say a Ampeg 610 would be great.
  6. Jaco who?

Don't just automatically go to GC and let their dweebs talk you into anything, particularly the Goldline stuff. If you must go new, go here:http://www.rmcaudio.com/gallien-krueger/gallien-krueger.htm

An Avatar 4x10 is probably a better value than the GK cabs, not that there is anything wrong with them.

A used Peavey Firebass with a 4 ohm Avatar 4x10 would set you back around $700 or so and be decent for what you're trying to do.
