I'm selling my Ric so I can buy good fretless. My requirements are simply J pickups and an ebony board. Also, around the 1000$ range would be optimal.

The only things I can think of are a custom warmoth J or a Warwick Corvette or Thumb BO fretless.

I have a warwick corvette 4 string fretless that I like a lot. Haven't played others so I won't comment. I got it fer 850 including sales tax.

I've played various Vette fretlesses too and I love the tone. I think I'll try it out again when I go pickup my pickups.

    Sorry...i forgot has no j pups :p

If the ebony board is not necessary, a Fender Jaco Pastorius will do the trick.

Last time I was up at GC in Nashua (mind you this was about a month ago) they had a real nice fretless vette. It was in excelelnt condition. I forget what pups it had on it (was a while ago, gimme a break) but it was a really great instrument. It was going for $800 bucks. I see you live in Andover so the drive wouldn't be too far. I say give thema call and see if they still got it.
