is there A/B box that is able to handle fairly high current. for like picking between amp cabs
  2. The place for an A/B box is between your bass and your amp, where there is actually very low current. If what you mean is, can you put one between your amp and a couple of different cabs, I think this would be a recipe for disaster. The act of the contacts closing in the switch could send a nasty spike to your speakers. Am I right, amp experts?

not being an amp expert myself, but just imagine unplugging the speaker cable while the amp is on [or plugging it in for that matter]. i think that will give the same effect that could be damaging to the speakers/amp.
