For a start, the French for because is 'parce que' or 'puis que' (thatspelling won't be correct as I've not done french for 3 or 4 years now).

Go to googl.com and search for a translator - there's loads about!

I don't understand the bold statement, tell me what you mean and I can help you

and what do you mean by:

Nous avons beaucoup plus d'activités à faire que d'autres villes, mais ils obtiennent le sondage rapidement

  6. "We have more activites than many other towns, but we take it for advantage, really."

    :meh:

  7. Merci Yvon, tu m'as sauvé de l'ouvrage! ;)

  8. "Nous avons plus d'activités que plusieurs autres villes, mais c'est à notre avantage, en réalité."

  11. So, Microbass - when you hand in your French homework, are you going to give credit where it is due? Inquiring minds want to know…

Oh ...you gotta point there.... ;)

OK, you could always say 'donnez moi un projecteur de flame'.....that's bound to get a good score! :D

  18. Je pense que vous avez mis ce texte dans un traducteur de Google et avez poussé le bouton marqué "Translate this stuff into French".

What grade French is this? You've got some really natty tenses working there and if you're working at something below Higher Grade and can truly construct sentences using these tenses then I'll eat my hat. Sorry, matey it's just a bit bloody obvious. The thing with these translators is that you really need to check over the output and make sure that the sentences are what a French person would write. You can see from some of the comments here that you've missed a few things.

If you are doing Higher French and did this lot without the aid of a translator then please do accept my sincere apologies... :D

I can understand your feelings about Kirkie though. Still it could be worse, it could be Twechar... ;)

  19. Translated one the paragraphs above into French using Google, and then translated the result back into English. You can see the shortcomings:

Which French of category is this? You have a few really fresh times functioning there and if you work with something below more raised category and can really build sentences by using these times then I will eat my hat. Afflicted, it is right obvious strapping little. The thing with these translators is that you must really check above the output and to make sure that the sentences are which French person would write. You can see some of the comments here which you missed some things.

  20. ROFL!!! That made me laugh, and it's so true about Twechar! It's famous! They are the indians of East Dumbartionshire! :D

this is standard grade french, and i missed out a lot of last year's work becuase of bad teachers... :)

    i'm only expecting a grade 3, i'll be lucky if i get a 2! :)
