I Need Help!

  1. I have a music man 5-string, but i don't really use the low B. i just restrung it and it is now tuned E-A-D-G-C. is this okey for my bass?...i mean will it warp the neck? thanks for your help! :D

    It won't hurt anything at all. The combined tension of the five strings you are now using is amazingly close to the tension of the five strings you were using. Some even get good setups after the changeover without even adjusting the truss rod.

    For example, here's the tensions on D'Addario XLs

    C - XLB032 38.9 lbs.
    G - XLB045 42.8 lbs.
    D - XLB065 51.3 lbs.
    A - XLB80 42.0 lbs.
    E - XLB100 36.5 lbs.
    B - XLB130 34.5 lbs.

    Total using B-E-A-D-G: 207.1 lbs.
    Total using E-A-D-G-C: 211.5 lbs.

    Percentange change: -2.1%
