I'm trying to put together a rig for live stuff
The cabs I have are Hartke MX-Series,
    the 4x10 cab is 200 watts @ 8ohms
I'm not sure on the 1x15 cab
    and the head i have is a crate B200XL 200 watts @ 4ohms.

Would this be loud enough to hear over the drums and play live with?

I have run an Acoustic b200h through a 4 ohm Ampeg 2x15 and it's plenty loud I think. The Acoustic is 200 watts @ 4 ohm. I usually run it with the master at about 3 and the gain about 3 to 4ish. Just my .02

Depends on how loud you need to be. I have 2x10 that will be plenty loud over any drums at gigs that *I'm* gonna play.

Give us an idea of what kind of guitar rig your competing with. Full Marshall stack? You might need another 4x10...

Oh, and without question that head won't do a good job with a 4x10 + 1x15 - Unless something has changed, Crate amps are generously rated (meaning they don't have much headroom).

Luckily for me I didn't buy that crate head. Any recommendations on a fairly cheap bass head that will perform well??

    You'll get more umph from a GK400RB

If you want to buy new, I'd look at the GK MB500

3 threads on the same question, not so good. Stick with one, read, and learn.
