I found a Framus 4 string hollow body Star Bass in my dad's attic. He forgot it was up there and it has sat for about 25 years. It states it was made in Bavaria has a serial number of 26343 and I believe a model number of 60E. Is this worth anything? I don't play and am just curious. It is in great shape that shows no wear. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I owned a Framus Star bass from 1963-67. There were several different versions, 34-inch scale and 30-inch scale. Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones used one for many years. For more history do a Google on "Framus Star Bass" also company history is here. You will se that Warwick and Framus are related.

They do come up on eBay from time to time and reach respectable prices. Do you have any photos?
  3. Do you still have your Framus? If have a 64 hollow body and it is great for certain types of gigs. This was an attic special I purchased on ebay. I am wondering if it was yours?
