I need to begin my search for a new amp.

A lot of gear I own belongs to my father's workplace, including my only amp. My father (a pro tubist) Is going to preform an audition at the national arts centre this spring. If he gets it, he quits his military job and I lose quite a bit of gear (not too much though...)

He is likely going to get the job, so I need to begin my search for a new amp.

The amp I currently own is a markbass minimark.

This amp has a really clean sound to it, I can really hear the pure sound of my bass, instead of the amp, and that's something I need.

    Here are the requirements:

    MUST HAVE:
    -Clean sound
    -Under 400$ CAD
-For bedroom practice and band rehearsal.

    REALLY LIKE TO HAVE:
-Fuzz (Rat fur or whatever it's called)
    -Not extremely cumbersome

    NOT NECESSARY, BUT NICE:
    -Similar dimensions to minimark

    Thanks for your help.

What do you want this for - bedroom practice, band rehearsal, gigging, what?

That looks like their 150 watt 2x8. At that price point, your best bet is 2x10 combos. In the US I would be looking FenderRumble (vintage tone), GK (brighter tone), or Carvin. I see you are in Canada, where Traynors are popular. I would also look used, your money goes further. Good luck.

  5. Why is rat fur a requirement? That stuff is awful. And gets awfuller as time goes on.

my bass tone can beat up your dad's bass tone.
save up some extra cash and get a second hand little mark 250 (Italian made or blackline) and any 4ohm cabinet. that will absolutely slay.

i love markbass gear though, so im probably being biased
