If the neck has been replaced, it isn't a real Fender anymore. Unless it was a genuine Fender replacement part.

Does it say "Fender" anywhere? If it does, it is one. If it doesn't, it isn't one. I'm pretty sure that's the rule most vintage collectors follow. Probably.

  14. Botlegion:
Yes, your bass is a vintage Fender Precision. Every vintage Fender has had it's neck replaced (this makes them more valuable). Another obvious clue is the 87 fret neck. In my expert opinion (I work for Fender as a vintage evaluator) your bass is worth $12,000.00-$14,000.00. If you decide to sell please call Fender, we pay top dollar for vintage basses (we want them off the market).

You're not so lucky. #271930 is not in our database. Most likely a Chinese replica (they all use #271930).
  15. Please, mr Yango, has MY milk gone Bad?

Perhaps Botlegion could email some images of the bass to a Talkbass user who can upload them here?

You can only upload photos if you are a supporting member. You will have to link your photos from another site in order for us to view them.

Where are you getting the serial number if the neck is gone?
  18. No, your milk is fine. Drink up and go to bed.
