    i play soprano(ukulele), and im not ashamed to admit it:D .

    But on a more serious note, its a big chick magnet:D :)

    I have wanted to learn to play one of them for a while. E Vedder from pearl jam plays soprano uke im pretty sure.

    arent they all part of the guitar family of instruments. ?

    A soprano is tuned G-C-E-A

    Go for it and make your own ukulele! I made my own ukulele back in the school days (hmm... 14 years ago) and it's very cool to have it hanging next to my basses.

    i have a little soprano uke. i few years ago i tried to tune it to E-A-D-G like a bass as opposed to the normal soprano tuning G-C-E-A. the uke is funny cause the C string is the lowest...so i took the C string, moved it to the lowest position, then started turing the tuning peg. at the lower E it wouldn't really vibrate so i started cranking it up to E. that was fine but the E sting being tuned up to A snapped so it wasn't meant to be... :-( no mini bass for me...
