I played a Big Block 750 today...

  1. And I think it was the best thing that has ever happened to me. One thing though...I couldnt get the overdrive channel to work. Do you need the footswitch to activate it?

    ^Yup, you need the footswitch.

    Excellent amp, one of my definent favs..

    EDIT: BTW, the distortion is awesome IMO. And i'm a tube amp user ;)
  3. I liked the idea of these amps as well untill I found out that the rating was 750 watts @ 2ohm. That seems a bit under powered to me. My buddy who's a Boogie endorsed artist was given one to try out and he had the same feeling in terms of the power output. I guess there's no replacement for the 400+ if you're looking for an enormous tube sound. I'm desperately hoping something comes out that will be close to 400+ in terms of volume and tone and doesn't weigh in at 100lbs.

    Hmm... I know if I wanted something similar to a 400+ in terms of volume and tone, but weighed less than 100 lbs...

    I'd get a 400+.
