  1. yippee!

Lightwave Systems is shipping my Zon Lightwave Fretless 5 back to me today!!!

Finally, i'll have the Roland V-Bass modification i've been gloating over for so long.

A full review with detailed pics will follow!!!

my only beef with the Roland GK2B previously with my Zon, was that the Lightwave monoliths prevented the proper mounting of the GK2B pickup.

The installation manual says that the pickup should be no farther than 50 millimeters from the bridge. the monoliths pushed it out beyond 60 millimeters.

i noticed some flakiness with some of the synthy sounds. a call to Roland verified that the pickup position was causing this.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...now, with the V-Bass tapped directly into the optical outputs...triggering should be lightening fast....

    mmmm mmm.

i'll show some closeup pics of the wiring and how the future LW daughtercard will make this upgrade a snap!

    stay tuned!

sure have missed playing my V!!!! although, I've been playing the LW Brubaker through it without the GK2B and the effects are STUNNING!!!!!!!!!

great unit, even without the modeling!

Yeah, I didn't receive my GK2b when my V-bass shipped so I had some downtime too.

It's a good way to demo the effects and whatnot; they do sound pretty good, don't they?

Watch for a smaller package in dat mailbox soon also...

package just arrived here at work!!!!!

    the zon, she is home.

    film at 11.

Uh, whoops, wrong thread. Nice bass though, that's really cool that they already have the systems integraded like that. It's what we call looking forward...

  8. so's, i get home, plug her in, works like a dream.

i get hit with the worst stomach cramps and vertigo EVER.

crawled into bed and slept until i had to go to work this morning.

fred fred the walking dead, today.

    sorry for the delay.

as soon as i feel up to it, i'll post pics of the mod.

  9. i tried and tried to wrestle this baby from them. can't really 'splain the details of my offers, but they wouldn't budge.

i may just be lazy about sending it back, though.

they have so many killer prototype projects lying around up there, it would give anyone here perpetual GAS!

i'm trying to get my name on his will.
