I still get signal with volume pots turned all the way down.

I have a Spector Legend 5 bass that I put active EMG's (J in neck and 40DC in bridge) with a Spector Tonepump preamp. I notice the other day that when I turn both volume pots all the way down, I still hear a low distorted signal coming my amp. Any idea why this happens? It doesn't happen on my Spector Euro 4 with the same active EMG/Tonepump setup.

    Thanks!!!

    FWIW:

there was a recent post where the bass had output with the volume knobs turned all the way off and it turns out they were linear pots, not audio. Anything that's different can be the source - pot resistance whatever. Also preamps do go bad. Apparenty there's not an imcompatability issue between the pups and preamp otherwise you should experience that in the other bass.
