    No!!!!

I assume that you are using tape to mark specific notes on your fingerboard, a la "slab" style (thanks for the slang Ray)?

Short term fix, aside from looking really goofy. If you are serious about playing, learn correctly. Even if you're just pumping out root-fifth.

    In your basement.
Take the tape off the bass.
    The correct spelling is Weenie.
One of the main reasons I took up the DB was to get my ears into better shape; using tape would not be of help to me. Also when I go to my teachers and used his bass, again the tape will not have been of any help. Take the tape off you are handicapping yourself.

The tape might be OK for a week or so, but if you're properly positioned at The Bass you shouldn't have a clear view of the fingerboard. I do a lot of practicing in front of a full-length mirror -- not out of self-love, but the best way to see awkward technique.

Oh! And it comes to mind that Edgar Meyer has Mother-of-Pearl inlays along the side of his fingerboard, like the dots on a Slab.

  6. If you keep the tape, be sure to remove one or so per week until they are gone.

I said "fingerboard" because I noticed that the tattoos don't really help his intonation much.... FiElDy BlOwZ cHuNkS......GaRy PeAcOcK RuLeZ!!
