    Peavey TNT: Gain at 6, bass left a notch, high at 12 oclock, scooped mids... highs and lows are in the middle, not boosted...

    volume at half... and now it is sorta distorted after some nice metal licks...

    amp? or the 31 year old bass?

    Neither. When you turn the gain up like that, and then have the master below it, it gets gritty and distorty.

    At least thats the way it works on my Eden.
