I think I have fallen in love with SX

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Gord_oh, Mar 30, 2009.

  1. IMHO as well. Especially since the shape of the stock is so different. Not only is it posing, but for those in the know re: Fender, ya just end up looking like a tool. lol!

I never disputed the fact that someone who puts Fender logos on an SX is a tool, I was simply stating that someone WOULD do this.

You read my mind sir! But I really need to learn how to play my first bass before I bother buying a fretless. :) Wow though, only $100 and they really seem to be praised on this board....

    it came! pics later!
  5. Please tell me you're talking about the bass. Bass porn is the only type we tolerate here. ;)
  6. Congratulations on the SX.... DON"T change the decal! Wear that sucker with pride!

Announce your excellent taste and judgment, let the treads go on believing that the outside of the instrument is more important than what's inside. I started with a GSR200, and loved it. It didn't take me long to adjust. And I'm so glad that I did.
  7. I just snagged this one from Dan - first SX! I will give my expert review once I have it and get some play time on it. Upgraded pots, cap, and bridge. Neck was sanded to remove some of the Poly Sheen - got some sound clips and it soundz Phat!!

    Wow love the look:smug:

Are sx bodies the same thickness as standard fenders like MIM?

I too love the bridge. Now, get some black tuners, black knobs and black strings and you'll have a killer 'black beauty' !

Let's hear the sound clips! I've been thinking about buying one of these, just to check it out. Great choice!

my ibanez has all black hardware, no black bridge but a black bridge cover. the SX i think im leaving alone for awhile, i like the 60s vintage look.

i've been playing it since i got it, sounds amazing! the p pickups are nice and smooth and the jazz has a rock growl....awesome!

ill post pics later of my SX. video, maybe. im still a n00b.

    here is my ibanez:

I like the look of that bridge cover. Nice touch and WAY cheaper than buying a quality black bridge!

Who would destroy the value of their SX by defacing it with a Fender decal?

    Gord oh,

Your Ibanez reminds me of my twin SX SB301s:
the one on the left is fretless and now wears tapewounds, the fretted one has DR Black Beauties.
