I think this MM is a great price regardless of the customization!?

too bad the carving is "glued and screwed" on. If only glued it might have been an easier removal/repair. The big dings noted in the auction and pictured below the pickguard, look suspiciously like patched screw holes. I get the feeling there was something else attached to this body at one time.
  3. Who cares why it was on there, im sure we all agree it looks dumb. But hey, for $600 for a sterling in pretty decent shape isnt a bad deal
  4. That's one hell of a thumb rest.
  5. I imagine the price will go up by the end of the auction... but take that turd looking thing off and you've got a good candidate for your own "Road Worn" model

Might be a bit of a booger to remove the - um - added feature, but it's still a good price.

Or you could leave it on and be the only one on your block!

You can always strip the thing off, send it to Marty Bell for an awesome refinish and have a sweet custom Sterling for under a grand.

0% chance it will go for that price. Still 7 hours left on the auction.

That weird thumb rest was a turn off I bet.

To be sure. That was hideous. But a small amount of effort and it's gone.
  16. For $621 +S&H.... I probably would've given it a shot. Of course I would've needed the $621 first...
