After reading the <a href="http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=19113"><font color=blue>"Which pickups does Sadowsky use?"</font></a> thread, I deceided to bring my Warmoth Sadowsky "Wanna-B"...

    <a href="http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=1174383&a=12990770"><img src="http://www.photopoint.com/images/pplogo3.gif" width="88" height="31" border="0" alt=""></a>

...with me & visit the Sadowsky shop. Talk about a glutton for punishment!!!!! I have to abmit that out of the basses I currently own, the Warmoth is the best feeling & playing bass I own. I was kind of nervous bringing that bass cause I cut the headstock to kinda look like his, but he was real nice about it. Well, let me tell you something. When I first built the "Wanna-B" (as I call it) I posted that it reminded me of a Sawowsky's bass. WELL, I thinks it's time Nino get's a new bass. He had a fretless 24 fret 5, a vintage 5 & a 21 fret 5. Man oh man. I was in AWE. All three bass were PERFECT!!!!! I am considering selling 2 of my USA Spectors, the blue stain NS-4 & natural NS-5. (ninobrown96@netzero.net for any offers)

What I need to do is when he has a fretted 24 fret 5 in stock, I need to re-string my "Wanna-B" & my NS-5 (if I still have it) & bring them both there for a real trial!!!! I have a feeling I will like the Sadowsky better.

Well, I'm REALLLLL LATE for band pratice, so I'll check back in a few hours!!!!!

I think everybody I've ever talked to who visited Roger's shop had a near-religious experience. I'm scared to death of the place myself...my will power is next to non-existent under those circumstances. Funny how you can suddenly justify that 3 grand purchase...

... and believe without any hesitation that it's the best 3K you've ever spent! :D

Wow! Talk of selling USA Spectors, from Nino?

Seriously, those Sadowskys are killer, and like Jeff just said, they are well worth the price tag.

All Roger does is build basses the way they should be built and treat people the way they should be treated...no big deal;)

Now everyone will know how to run a respectable business!

No, wait... it's can't be THAT easy... just make the best instument possible consistently, be responsive and treat everyone like a... uh... customer...

    Naw, can't be that easy...

    Thanks, mchildree.:)

It's nice to know that you're respected enough(or hated enough??;)) to be missed.

I can't be here as much as in the past, but i'll be in once or twice a week.

Back On Topic - I would LOVE to visit Roger's shop.

But if I ever do, I better not have any checks or credit cards with me!

I wish I could visit Roger one day, it needs at least 24 hrs flight. Anyhow my Sadowsky 4 Vintage with alder/rosewood is under spraying, passive tone control, flat wound, cos I want the '60 sound. I have been waiting long enough too. The colour will be shoreline gold with pearloid p.g.
Beside now I am using his other 4 string, ash/ebony with Prime quilt top maple, 59 burst. This Sadowsky is the top tone of my high end collection.
I have Pedulla, Lakland, Alembic, Dolphin pro etc. but cannot match with this Sadowsky.

i have never played a sadowsky. but i'm sure that they are great basses. and honstly i think that nino, you are doing the right thing. i have a spector ns5cr and this is a great bass, but i think that is much better to have and play a usa spector and a sadowsky than 3 usa spector and a sadowsky wanna be. for me it's useless to have the same bass three times, wa have to had the same woman for such a lot of time, let's build an harem with every different bass possible! obviously nothing against spector, it's just about having different playing bass under the same harem...

and hey nino...if you'll go with the sadowsky, are you going to sell the warmoth? i'm in the first row to catch it!! let me know and good luck with your triple test match

Hmmm...sell or trade a bass (or two) to buy a different one? I think that's a bit suspect!

Nino, you may love Sadowskys, but to dump high quality hand made basses (2 of them) for one?

I personally think you're nuts! But, what I would do, if I were you, is just save up the bucks to buy a Sadowsky outright, keep the Spectors, and never look back.

Even if I never plan on using a bass again, I'll never sell or trade it! I've learned that lesson once!
