I absolutely love this finish so I want to see what's out there.
Dude...go to BlueBerryHill Bass and The Perfect Bass, under Roscoe and "tops on order."
search it, there have been 4 or 5 of these.
I think I just wet myself
Here is an eye teaser.-
It is my newborn baby coming next week!
You do realize that spalt is not a finish, right?
My Rob Allen, Mouse 30
Can you identify the Luthier from the foot in the corner of the picture?
Used to be mine...
This one too...
How's about some quilt/spalt???
Jome, that top amazes me!
AJ, sweet F.
Yes Yes of course...
I believe it's caused by fungus on dead wood.
Looks like the shoe of a Dingwall lutheir huh?
So spalt tops look amazing, but the softness of the wood is supposed to take away from the sound. Can anyone attest to how much of a noticable difference there is? I have played many before but not with the same wood, pu configs and all that wonderful stuff. Not to mention you learn alot more about an instruments sound owning it as opposed to just playing it.
Ill get a closeup when it arrives!
and here a backside too
Gorgeous, What body and figerboard woods are you getting?
Wow. I forgot how much I like Spaulted Maple. Too many beauties to mention any particular one. Now I'm thinking Spaulted Maple instead of Claro Walnut top for my eventual Roscoe five. Hmmm...
This kind of problem I like, but I still think I'm leaning to the Walnut.
I like the spalt, but in my opinion there is nothing sexier than a nicely figured walnut top.
