I've been looking on ebay for a nice vintage hollowbody bass for a long time now. I'm sort of stuck on my decision, please help me out.

The music I play is 60's garage, 60's British invasion, some blues, some folk. Looking for vintage hollow, full tone.
I have an Ampeg B100R amp but no bass!

If you choose "Other" please specify.

    Feel free to comment.

ya, Kay's are getting a little too expensive though. I've seen some hollow Kay's selling for like 4 grand.

H22's are my first choice but they seem impossible to find.

  3. I had a 67 fender coronado II... wish I never gave it up

I have a 67 Fender Coronado II guitar and its really cool. But it feedbacks a lotttt.

  5. Yeah, I've only seen the Howlin' Wolf Kay's go for $1-2 grand. The other hollowbody Kays go for more like $500-600. But they aren't nearly as cool as the Howlin' Wolfs! :D

    I want one :bag:

I love my old Guild Starfire though :hyper:

Never played any of the ones in your poll, but when I went looking for a hollow (at least semi-hollow body) bass, I ended up with an epiphone viola bass, and after making many adjustments to it, it sounds really great with a good set of flatwounds. Nails the vintage bass sound, I use it for beatles covers, some originals and a lot of other classic rock. When I was going to buy this bass, I ran across another epiphone called a jack casady signature edition. Big hollow-body-bb- king type look. I only chose the viola over it because they only had the casady in a color I hated in the store. Also, you could try looking for an eastwood copy of the hofner club bass, I was this .......... close to picking one of these up. Heres a link http://www.myrareguitars.com/clubbass.html.

You are missing some real good ones from your list like the Gibson EB-2's, Epiphone Jack Cassady Signature, Gibson Les Paul Signature and Gretsch G6072.
