I thought the fretless sound would come just by having a fretless! Anyway, back off the treble some and keep the bass and mids slightly above the mid. Play over the bridge pickup too. I can't remember if this bass had sweepable mids, but if it does, play with it. Also, wiggle your finger on the fret line when you play a note to create vibrato effect and elect to slide from note to note when you have a chance. Maybe this will help, but there are lots of fretless players on this forum who can help. I think you have the right guitar for it. Roundwounds are more apt to growl IMO BTW.

Setup (action / neck relief) is key from what I hear. Gary Willis has some notes on this at his website (www.garywillis.com)

If you're after a modern FL sound (cf. Willis, Wooten, Miller, etc.) you'll need roundwounds.

The String Action would have effect on the sound?? 'cuz the are pretty high.

Oh yeah, you're not likely to get the "mwah" without having a rather low action.

Yes, it has 3 different mid tones, which one should I use?? I've also noticed that If I use the bridge pickup I could get sort of the sound I'm looking for.

Aight, that's the thing I'm looking 4, the characteristic "mwah" that the fretless has. What should I do?

Well, set up the bass correctly to begin with! You can't achieve your goals with high action, so lower it! After that, it's pretty much a technique issue.

I'm getting well among with the fretless, it's not hard, since the first day I felt in love with him, and I'm getting pretty good with it...

    Thanx man

You can get a "mwah" with a fretted? Just a low action and eq settings will create this? Whats the best fretless simulator?
