I really don't have much of a follow-up to that. It just popped in to my head and I thought I'd post it.

    With a tort guard.

And a matching headstock.... I know it doesn't exist, but it'd be sweet. Maybe a refinish?

They did that color back in the day, here's a Sabre I used to have:

They did this custom color one-off in 2007.

Yeah that's sweet. Easy enough to have any of a dozen good refin places convert any ol' Ray with a chewed-up finish into a Surf sweetie.

  5. aw those are so nice man :bassist:

Surf green rocks. I built a Jazz bass from parts for no other reason than I wanted a surf green bass.:)

I think they did Seafoam Green at some point in the 80s.

I would buy ANYTHING that is surf green. A surf green car, a surf green hammer, a surf green computer...

    I have lost it, haven't I? :D
  9. As long as it's not a surf green g****r...:ninja: :p
  10. There was a sweet T-Bird on ebay a couple years ago- can't recall if it was surf or seafoam green, but sheeeyoot it was nice. I'd like a green(either shade)DB w/purple metal-flake flames. I'd have to start really digging some-kind-of-billy music though, because what else would a man play w/that bass?
On topic, if this becomes a club, I'll hate it and join. :)

    +1 to that :)

I am in the process of Frankensteining a fretless P together. Just got the paint from ReRanch in the mail yesterday.

Thanks. When the time's right I'll definitely keep that option in mind.

I also started playing around on Warmoth last night. If I get a P body routed for a MM pup, will top routing be enough space for the MM control plate (4 knobs)? And would a MM pickguard fit?
  18. Fixed the link, see above ...
  19. It's crazy- to me, tort & green sounds wrong on paper, but it sure looks nice in rea(photoshopped ;))life.
