No it doesn't. I sympathize with the changes he made. "Senior Member" doesn't really say anything, we have members who've been around over a year and not yet gotten 200 posts, while some other manage to get that amount of posts by a week of intensive spamming. So it's a change to the better, in my opinion. However, another change I would like is that "new member" status should be time-based, for 30 days or so, and not based on posts written.

Different "ranks" only make people reach for a higher one, which is why I think "the fewer, the better". And "supporting" may not sound as flashy as "elite", but it is far more justifiable - are you really a better person, an "elite" being, just because of your $20 donation? (Well, since you help keeping TB alive, maybe you are... but you get my point, right? :))

So he got his answer what about mine?

I have several uses for the sun you know....
unfortunatly none of them involve using it for good, but alas they are still reasons

  6. Ahh Oysterman, the concept of Spamming is like your favourite thing at the moment isn't it? :p

Like every post i have come across either has that picture of the "Spam Can" or something similar..... lololol

I agree with Oysterman that it's quality not quantity we want and I'd rather have fewer topics and posts if each one was interesting or informative - they would be easier to find for a start!! :)

Like mail - it's far better to have a few letters that include something you want to hear about, than a mountain of junk on your doormat, which is mostly things that you don't want at all!

Oh and I like "supporting" member fine....:D

What's the difference. I don't like the term "senior" since I am quickly reaching 30. I hit 200 post in a month & I was a senior member. I didn't know what happened.

I just like to come here 2-100 timws a day & give my opinion, give another point of view, help someone out. Being an "elite", "senior", "new", "modirator" dosen't make me think any less of someone's post.

I wish we could lose the post counter and ALL the labels. I don't see how they add anything to Talkbass to make it a better forum. Perhaps then...
we WOULD have fewer, but more informative, and interesting posts.

Man, who cares? What's the difference between "senior member" and "junior member" anyway? One works, one doesn't...thats it!

If you REALLY have a problem with this, im pretty curious as to why...
  11. I have to agree with the guys who said to get rid of the labels, I mean, I am a stupid human. Look at my posts, i have over 200, but I really asked questions, helped a little eansy (sp?), weensy bit, but mostly, you should ignore me. I just wish you didn't have to pay to get the pictures!
