I want to connect my bass to my UMC22 interface, but there isnt any input when i play the bass.

    I tried connecting my bass to the 1/4 instrument jack, but there wasn't any sound, do i need to connect my amplifier and then connect it to my audio interface, or am i doing something wrong here?

    No usually just connecting the bass is fine.
    Do you get a signal reading on your computer?
    Did you push the. Direct monitor button?
    If those aren't working, perhaps you have a defective unit.

    the audio interface works with a mic connected to it, but when i try to connect the bass to any of those it doesnt work, i tried all of those things mentioned

    I'm sorry, I'm already out of ideas! If you have followed the directions in the manual, and the other channel is working, perhaps you can call berhinger support?

    ok, so i found out that i do hear my bass in direct monitor, but windows doesnt pick it up

    I wonder if you have the latest drivers downloaded?
    Does windows recognize that you have connect the audio interface?
    Also what DAW are you using?

    also again i was dumb, it was set to 1 audio channel, i now fixed that, also what is a DAW?

    Digital Audio Workstation. Like protools, cubase, stuff like that. If you use one, sometimes you have to select the track you want to record on, before it will show a signal
