So I went to a local store, looking for a new speaker cable for my rig, which they didn't have. But I did notice a MIA Jazz on the wall for 475$. So I wonder around town for a bit, get my cables, and go back to the store. I start playing with it, and notice that it has Bartolinis in it... So I ask the guy if he is willing to consider a trade. He says he is, so I run home, grab all the crap that was on the post I had about the garage sale, and head back... so that stuff, a little bit of cash, and I have the bass... I am still trying to get used to it, but the first reaction is how solid it feels... I have to get the electronics looked over, but everything else is perfect... In my mind, a great deal and I already love it! [email protected]
Woohoo! congrats on the find, sounds like a deal indeed? Do you know the year on it? Oh, and in your haste, you forgot to mention the color and such Oh, and any pics? You simply *cannot* tell us you got a new bass and not have pics of it, sheesh!
ooooppps.... I think its a 97 or 98... It's a sorta off-white/cream color with a white pearloid pickguard, and pictures will be coming soon! [email protected]
Congrats!!!! Great price also!!!!! I'd personally rut a black or tortouise shell pickguard on it. Good luck. <a href="http://www.theoremnyc.cjb.net"><img width=385 height=70 src="http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1174383&a=8647027&p=41535909&Sequence=0&res=high" border=0></a>
it was the C&C Drum and Guitar, up in Gladstone, about North Oak Tfwy and 83rd(?) they did have a nice jazz fretless there.... not too much else that I saw.
Unfourtanetly the Kansas City area is devoid of any good bass deals (of course with my EXTREMELY tight budget, anything over $300 is a bad deal anymore) But I do like going down to Musicians Friend and check out what they have, some good deals, some just a few dollars off the retail price. Pawn Shops in the Northland have almost nothing in terms of good bass gear, (except for the Warwick Dolphin, but I don't like it, and way too much $$$) Anyway, there's my two cents of our hometown.
