Used my new IA Coda last night with an Underwood PU alone-Piano Trio & vocalists.
    Medium volume.
Rave reviews on sound-not used to the middy ( great clarity- missed the body) quality of the speaker cab, and want to use an ext. spk. cab other than an AI cab that would balance the sound when blending PU with a mic.
Missed the body of sound I'm used to with other cabs.
Need to hear & feel the Bass, especially when there's more volume required.
    Thanks.

AI cabs are rather inefficient so most extension cabs will overpower the internal speakers. Perhaps you are thinking of turning it off.

Have you even tried it with a mike yet?

I used mine with a B1 and would have been just as well to use the B1 alone. The Coda sounds great at low volumes where the natural, acoustic tone it is designed for is reasonable to maintain. The higher volume levels on many gigs require something else.

    How's the B1?

Do a search for Acme B1, Low B, B-1....... It shares some of the tonal qualities of the AI design but has a wider frequency response, more low end, clarity and punch. Both companies support each other; symbiotic relationship. Like the AI combos, people either love or hate the B1. I happen to like both.

    Thanks Craig.
Just used my new IA Coda at a jazz club with a trio & friends loved the sound of my bass in the audience. Will use it tonight & Sat also- different trios & a quartet.
I missed what my bass usually sounds like with larger cabs, or even a GK 150 MBS, with & without the ext. spk.
The sound & clarity was good, low & medium volume-still missed the oomph!
Came home & tried an ATM 350 lent to me by a sound man, big sound, then blended PU & mic.
Finally used a Markbass Traveler210 cab as an extension speaker-Great sound!
Can't imagine using the Coda for much louder bands.
