There is a guy locally selling a SR505
pretty reasonable, but it looks different than others I've seen. Most of the SR505 I've seen have a toggle switch included in the preamp. Is this an option for the SR505? Is this not a SR505. Any help would be appreciated. ImageUploadedByTalkBass1376149468.476176.jpg ImageUploadedByTalkBass1376149497.479175.jpg

The older ones did not have the mid freq switch. I don't remember what year they added it. That is indeed an SR505.

From what I can find they added the switch in 2010.

  4. The SR505s are still good instruments, with or without the switch. If the seller advertised it at a good price, I'd say go for it.

I've owned a SR885 for 20 years and it still treats me very well.

I owned this version and traded it in on the new one. I prefer the older one. I like the tone better and the wider but thinner body. If you can get it for less than 300-350, buy it.
