Im looking into one for my first acoustic bass purchase.

Anyone have one, or played one? What did you think?

I LOVE my Ibanez AEB10BK! Granted, its the first guitar I've owned, but I wanted the versatility of playing/practicing without the cord - we are, after all, living in a "wireless world".

Since this is the first time ever playing strings - I don't have much to compare it to, but I like it! :D I've done Sax and some percussion stuff, but always felt like a "sheep" - following the crowd and wanted something different, but shied away from guitars, feeling that due to small hands wouldn't be able to. Well, after only 2 weeks, people actually can hear what song I'm practicing - so I think I'll hang in there!

It's a fantastic bass. Performs especially good with a pick - the bass has an inclination to be more modern and electric-sounding than it would like an upright. Great feel, even with the silliness of the Elixir strings (I don't like 'em on bass , but I have Polyweb lights on my Applause), even though the G string was kinda... rotten or something... it was discolored and did NOT sustain. Somehow, the shop owner, a very good guy, changed only the last three strings.

But my recommendation would have to go to the Sunlite acoustic bass - it plays like no other, and it sounds so incredible. I believe http://www.bassnw.com has one in stock in the 'Standard Basses' section.

Sorry, I just checked the site, and they don't have it anymore. :(
