So there is one for sale on cl. It doesn't have the pickguard and the original pickup was replaced with a mm style humbucker. He's asking 250and is including the original pickup is it a fair price or should i leave it alone?

I'd steer clear with those changes, especially at that price. The tri-coil pickup is the best thing about the ATK.

There are some available in the classifieds here, or used on the GC site.

    Good luck

Thanks for the input. Thats kind of what i was thinking. I really don't understand why the guy would take out the triple coil, to each his own i guess.

The reason being in the legend behind Ibanez ATKs... They're cheaper, yet effective, StingRays for who cannot afford a proper StingRay right?

The guy went like that "now that I got me this Ibanez's StingRay, let it sound like a StingRay"

Very much like those telling that the Iceman is the Ibanez take on a Gibson/Epiphone Thunder Bird!

The bass can be awesomely operating and you keep the original TripleCoil pickup. I'd say give it a go. Give it a try.

    Cheers,
    Wallace
