I have an Ibanez Axstar thats headless, it is much like a stienberg in that regards, is it possible to just switch the neck on this with a ...fender jazz neck?? or is there some sort of modification I can do to make this like a regular bass at the head end? its akool looking bass with bart pickups installed.I hate the idea of unscrewing the clamps with allen wreches just to change the strings.

No. I believe the axstar is a neck thru bass. The advantages to a neck through is sustain. If you don't like the headless design, why did you buy it? At least with the Axstar you can use any string not just double ball end. I like the headless design for balance and its light weight. BTW the only Axstar I've played was a 5 string, and its an excellent bass.
