Well, I'm reluctantly selling my Ibby 2006 - BTB 1205e Prestige. I had it professionally customized. Modifications include a thumb groove, custom rosewood knobs to match fretboard, lower horn removed, a portion of the top wood removed for the abalone inlay, edges of head stock bevelled to show the three types of wood and the locking jack replaced with a standard one (pulling my amp down and breaking cords was getting old). More recently I applied a couple coats of Danish Oil that once dry, leaves a durable glossy shine. The guitar is simply beautiful and I get compliments all the time. Truly one of a kind. Has the original custom Bartolini PUPs and electronics. 35" scale, neck through, dual trust rods . . only needed one slight adjustment in 3 years +. Nice low action . . . sounds HUGE and plays silky smooth. Condition is conservatively between and 8.5 - 9. Only a few minor nicks or scuffs. No belt rash. Plastic is still on the electronics covers. The reason for selling is I'm having a custom bass made and need extra $$$. Comes with the original Ibanez hard shell case that is in excellent shape as well. Asking a very reasonable $750.00!

I've tried to get every angle possible. Pics show a very good representation of the condition of the guitar

Hey Big Red, I believe Ibanez specs it at 19mm but I'm measuring 18.5 albeit with a ruler so it's in that area. Spacing is excellent for finger picking / slapping. The thumb groove adds a nice comfort feature while playing too. My scale indicates 9.2lbs. Very little neck dive especially considering the 35" scale neck. Though beefier than some other basses it's well balance and very comfortable.

Anything else . . let me know . . Thanks!

  9. I remember seeing this in a topic a long time ago, a pic of it and your Affirma - a wooden EDA905 esque bass. I Loved the look of both, and I'd be ready to buy this for 800, but I'm a poor university student. Good luck selling this, someone is going to love it.

Would you consider $500.00 shipped? No disrespect meant, I would like to give you $800.00 but I can't see my wife allowing that when I already have 3 other basses. Just something to throw out for you to consider. Let me know.

Is that an ichthys on the lower horn? I love looking at this thing.

Omroi - Sorry dude, really don't want to go that low. Considering it's condition and mods, I think $750 is reasonable. Why can't our wives just understand that us men need basses like they need shoes?

Lublin - yes that is an ichthys. I play in a couple worship bands at church. The bass has only seen my bedroom, church or it's case. .

Hi Big Red . . . . Mohagany sandwiched between tiger maple on top, and hard maple on the back. Fretboard is rosewood. Custom, USA made Bartolinis - top two contols are master volume and p/u balance. The three bottom controls are bass, mid & treble combined with a 3 position midrange sweep toggle switch. This bass provides a wide array of sounds. Almost any type of music can be played on this. Check out the threads on the BTB PRESTIGE to read more about the versatility of this model. Thanks . . .

Well it seems alot of players out there in TB land like the looks of it. Getting some excellent feedback through PMs as well. Hope your buddy finds what he's looking for. These 1205 prestiges have become harder to find lately now that they're discontinued.

Thanks for your inquiry babebambi. The guitar was made in Korea. I had the same question (concern?) when I first considered buying this. But after playing it initially and now owning it for a few years, to me it doesn't matter. This is an excellent instrument, regardlesss where it was made. Absolutely no problems what so ever. I previoulsy owned an EDA 905 and this BTB Prestige blew that away . . . no comparison. It was a toss up between this and a Warwick. I found the BTB to offer a wider array of sounds and had a easier neck to play . . . IMO. (nothing against Warwicks) Based on when I bought it, I'm pretty sure it's a 2006 model.

The mods were done a couple years back by a luthier / guitar repair specialist with over 30 years of experience. He followed my design perfectly and did an incredible job. So good you can't find any indications the mods were done. Hope this helps . ..

  19. I'll give another bump for the beauty of the bass.
