    Tell me about this bass....
    Should I go ahead and change to pups on it first or what? I'm tuned down to C and I want to insure that I project this powerfully. I'll be playing thru a Mesa Basis M-2000 and a Powerhouse 1000 cab.
    Or should I leave it alone? I want the right axe to go with this Mesa.

    Try it without changing the pickups first. If it sounds like how you want it to without changing the pickups, then why bother?

    The pickups they come with sound awesome. If you are tuning down to a C why don't you just buy the 5 string? It would probably sound a lot better.
