Ibanez BTB1206 OR Yamaha TRB 1006

  1. What is better for tap,slap,and fingerstyle and has a nicer feel and sound ,

    i play rock,jazz

    Tone-wise, neither is better, they're just different.

    However, if that Ibanez plays like the other Ibanez sixers I've played, then slapping it will be very difficult due to the string spacing. I'd go with the Yamaha if you're planning to slap.

    Both BTB 6-strings I own (1206e and 1006e) are great slappers. Haven't tried the newest version of the Yamaha, though...

    If you're going to pay that much, you *really* should "play before you pay"! You may need to go into the "guitar quiet-room" to hear yourself, but it is worth it.

    Also, put your ear to the "horn" of the bass-body and listen unplugged! Trust me on this... :(
