Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Gingerfish, Mar 22, 2005.

  1. I am able to get an old ibanez destroyer pretty cheap and was wondering what peoples opinions were on this old bass, would need a refinnish i feel as i don't like bright red bass' but yeah what do you think, it has the p/j set up and he's throwing in the original hard case.

If I remember correctly someone here has one - its like chrome - looks hot.

    I havn't played one though

  3. I had one when the first came out. Man, I must be old! Anyway, it was . . . okay. Not really a tone machine with stock P ups and light corina body.

Awesome...I've always had a soft spot for explorers, but never really liked the basses. That one looks pretty cool.

Dave Vincent from Morbid Angel played a custom Ibanez Explorer style bass for a while too. He used it when I saw them on the Covenant tour in 94-95.

James, you are going to post pics when the refinish is done right?

james... i'm joining late of course but......

you are going to RE finish the one we see in the pics?????

    OMG! WHY ???

  12. it was hideous in person.... done by the hands of someone that should have been paying someone to do it ;)

I've got it stripped and hanging on the wall in my utility room. I was going to just walnut stain and tung oil it... but I tracked down some adhesive chrome foil recently :bassist:
