Ibanez Erodyne EDB 600 VS MIM P-Bass Deluxe

Hey there all. I want a growly, Throhty kinda Lower midrabge sound. or at least something with some major growl. i have a p-bass, and i know what kind of growl it can get, would getting a p-bass with the bridge J pickup help with some low end growl? i was thinking of an Ibanez EDB, seeing as how everyone says it was great mids. and, the ibanez has Sweepable mids, i think. Also, what one is more diverse? these are the basses im thinking of that are in my price range (500 dollers). any thoughts are welcome.
